Welcome to the William C. Wardlaw, Jr. Center

The William C. Wardlaw, Jr. Center was financed entirely by private contributions. The Wardlaw Center is a multipurpose facility serving Georgia Tech's administration, governing boards, and athletic program. The building is designed to provide the following:

  • Boardroom for the Georgia Tech Foundation, the Alexander-Tharpe Fund, the George Tech Advisory Board, the Georgia Tech Student Foundation, and other volunteer boards

  • Offices for Georgia Tech's Institute Communications and Public Affairs, and Development staff.

  • Studio and production facilities for the television and photographic services

  • Frank Gordy Dining Room

  • Physical fitness center for varsity athletes

  • Visiting team locker room

  • Twelve luxury skyboxes for viewing football games and other events at Bobby Dodd Stadium/Grant Field

  • Recognition hall for people honored throughout Georgia Tech's history

The Wardlaw Center was designed by Jova Daniels Busby and built by Beers Construction Company, both Atlanta firms. In August 1988, the architects received an Award of Excellence from the Atlanta Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for their design of the Wardlaw Center.
The Center was made possible initially by a gift from Mrs. Edna Wardlaw in memory of her late husband, William C. "Billy" Wardlaw, Jr., a Georgia Tech graduate, Class of 1928. Other major contributors to the project include John E. Aderhold, Paul A. Duke, George W. Felker III, Larry L. Gellerstedt, Jr., George W. Mathews, Jr., James P. Poole, Mrs. Evelyn Gordy Rankin, E. Delony Sledge, Robert H. Tharpe, John A. William, William J. Wren, Jr., the World War II Classes and anonymous donors.
